Ryan Rushton has a diverse work experience spanning from 2005 to the present. Ryan started their career as the owner of Geneva Kayak Center, which was a specialty canoe and kayak shop, adventure travel provider, and kayak school. From 2013 to 2016, Ryan served as the Chief Operating Officer of 2B Building Services, focusing on developing a customer-focused culture in the commercial construction industry. In 2016, they became the Director of Operations at R. Vari & Associates / R. Vari Development, prioritizing client needs and functional space.
In 2013, Ryan joined Alaska Travel Adventures, Inc., where they took on various roles including Operations Manager, Director of Operations, and Vice President of Operations. Ryan was responsible for managing operations in Ketchikan, Sitka, and other locations in Alaska.
Furthermore, Ryan has been involved with the American Canoe Association since 2019, serving as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Coastal Kayak Committee and as an Advanced Open Water Instructor Trainer Educator.
Throughout their career, Ryan has also worked as an independent kayak coach and brand ambassador for various paddlesport brands, providing instruction, coaching, and consulting services.
Currently, Ryan is the Vice President of Operations at Alaska Travel Adventures, Inc.
Ryan Rushton earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University in the years 1995 to 1999. Ryan also holds additional certifications such as the 5 Star Sea Leader from British Canoeing, L5 Advanced Open Water Kayak Instructor Trainer Educator from the American Canoe Association, and L5 Advanced Swiftwater Rescue Trainer from the American Canoe Association.
