Mari Shopsis

Mari Shopsis is an experienced professional in education and nonprofit management, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Albany Fund for Education since August 2018, where responsibilities include enhancing educational opportunities through community partnerships and innovative programs. Prior to this role, Mari was the Development & Grants Manager at the Palace Performing Arts Center, successfully securing over $600K in grant funding, and previously worked as Development Coordinator at Capital Roots. Mari also held various educational leadership positions, including Director of Education at the Rensselaer County Historical Society and The History Center in Tompkins County. With a strong academic background, including an M.S. in Educational Administration from Bank Street College of Education and a B.A. from the University of Chicago, Mari's expertise spans fundraising, program development, and educational initiatives.
