Claire Fox Hillard is an accomplished musician and educator with extensive experience in conducting and music instruction. Currently serving as Conductor for the Gulf Coast Steinway Society, Inc. and holding positions as Vice-President and Treasurer at Conductors Guild Inc., Claire contributes significantly to the music community. As an Associate Professor of Music at Albany State University since 2004 and Music Director of Albany Symphony Orchestra since 1988, Claire has shaped the musical landscape in academia and performance. Previous leadership roles include Music Director and Conductor for the Meridian Symphony Orchestra and the St. Joseph Symphony. Claire holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance & Pedagogy and a Master of Arts in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Iowa, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance from Calvin University.
