Dr. Jason Armstrong is an accomplished academic and law enforcement professional with extensive experience in higher education and criminal justice. Currently serving as the Associate Provost and Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs (interim) at Albany State University since August 2014, Dr. Armstrong has held various roles at the institution, including Associate Dean and Criminal Justice Program Coordinator. Prior to this, positions included Adjunct Instructor at Albany Technical College and Law & Justice Instructor at Albany High School. Dr. Armstrong's law enforcement background includes roles as Lieutenant/Investigator at the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit and the Dougherty County District Attorney's Office, as well as a Criminal Investigator with the Albany Police Department. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy & Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Walden University and a Master's degree in Public/Justice Administration from Columbus State University.
