Roderick Burton

Roderick Burton has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Roderick started their career in 2001 at Albemarle County as a Data Management Coordinator, where they worked on building an architecture that linked the organization's strategy, processes, and information technology assets. Roderick also managed the County's demographic information resources. In 2006, they worked as a Web Content Manager at both Kiwanis International and the Salvation Army. In 2017, Roderick returned to Albemarle County as a Senior Systems Analyst in the Community Development Department, providing leadership in integrating complex systems and subsystems. Roderick then progressed to become the Chief of the Knowledge Management & Communications Group in the Department of Information Technology, where they promoted the innovative use of technology to re-envision core business processes. Currently, Roderick holds the position of Director of Information Technology at Albemarle County, where they provide leadership and governance in the innovative use of technology services, contributing to an efficient and productive County government while improving access to government information and services.
