Operations Unit Lead - Primary Metals at Albemarle

Julie Luong has a diverse work experience in various industries. Julie has worked at Albemarle Corporation since 2014, starting as a Materials Intern and later becoming a Materials Science Intern. In 2016, they joined CR Bard as a Research and Development Co-op for a two-year period. Julie then worked at Georgia Institute of Technology as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, analyzing corrosion on nuclear reactor systems using molten salts. Julie joined Six Flags as a Catering Supervisor from 2013 to 2015. Julie also worked as a Student Intern at Chemlink Laboratories in 2014. Currently, Julie is working at Albemarle Corporation as an Operations Unit Lead in Primary Metals, previously holding positions such as Maintenance and Reliability Engineer and participating in the Albemarle LAUNCH program as a LAUNCH Engineer.

Julie Luong completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they attended from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they attended Joseph Wheeler High School from 2011 to 2015. Julie also obtained additional certifications, including API 570 - Piping Inspector from the API - American Petroleum Institute in December 2023, and Pressure Vessel Inspector (API 510) in November 2022.
