Jason Bucholtz

Jason Bucholtz has over two decades of experience in the power system industry, currently serving as the Real Time Operations Manager - Transmission at AESO since May 2008. In this role, Jason operates the Alberta power system, ensuring compliance with Alberta and NERC reliability standards, conducting daily studies to maintain reliable transmission facility operations, and coordinating system outages. Previously, Jason worked at AltaLink as a Protection and Control Technologist, where responsibilities included analyzing power system disturbances, installing metering, performing maintenance on system elements, and managing emergency situation responses. Jason holds a Power System Electrician degree from NAIT and an Electrical Engineering Technologist degree from SAIT.
