Kirsten Horne

Kirsten Horne is an experienced environmental specialist with a strong background in project management, environmental site assessments, and environmental monitoring programs. Currently serving as the Industry Performance Lead, Tailings and Water at the Alberta Energy Regulator since March 2022, Kirsten has previously held the position of Project Manager at West Earth Sciences Ltd. from April 2020 to March 2022. Prior experience includes roles as an Environmental Scientist at Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. from 2008 to 2020 and earlier positions as an Environmental Specialist at Marston Canada Ltd. and Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Calgary, completed in 2002, and attended the University of Victoria from 1994 to 1996.
