Jerald Palmer

Jerald (Jay) Palmer is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law and governance. Currently serving as Corporate Secretary & Senior Legal Counsel at the Alberta Securities Commission since September 2021, Jay also holds the position of Director and Treasurer at the Association of General Counsel of Alberta since November 2014. Previous roles include Corporate and Municipal Finance Lawyer for the City of Calgary and General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Rocky Mountain Equipment, where responsibilities encompassed managing legal and regulatory matters for a leading agriculture equipment distributor. Jay began their legal career as an associate lawyer at Stringam LLP, one of Alberta's largest regional law firms. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science with Distinction from the University of Calgary.
