Hu Bin

Hu Bin is a Senior Director with ASG’s China team, where he advises clients on government affairs strategies and policy and regulatory issues, particularly in the health and life sciences and medical device sectors.

Prior to joining ASG, Mr. Hu led the Beijing office and government affairs team of Flon Holdings Group, where he managed a national research and development program in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Mr. Hu was previously the Global Government Affairs Manager for China at Abbott, and also led AbbVie’s government affairs team in China. In those roles, he focused on engagement with central-level regulators on pricing and reimbursement and led several cross-function policy research projects on biologics and biosimilars.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hu served as a diplomat at the Chinese Mission to the European Union and at the Chinese Embassy in Belgium. He has also worked at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing as a Trade Policy Specialist, focusing on bilateral coordination on health care policy. He has extensive experience in the field of international trade.

Mr. Hu received his M.S. from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and his B.A. from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade.

He is based in Beijing.
