Austin Burson has extensive work experience in sales, business development, and emergency management. In 2021, they were recruited as the National Director Sales, Enterprise & Government for Merit, where they built out the outbound sales and capture management function from scratch. Austin later transitioned to Director of Sales and led company growth initiatives focused on federal and SLED government business as well as private sector nationwide. In 2022, they joined HYPCCCYCL as a Member, and also became a Startup Mentor for the Newchip Accelerator. In 2019, they joined the Alchemist Accelerator as a Founder Sales Coach and Startup Growth Advisor, and also became a Member of the Board of Advisors for Watts Battery Corp. Additionally, they became an Executive Contributor and Writer for Brainz Magazine Official. From 2019 to 2018, they were a Regional Sales Executive for TriNet, and from 2018 to 2016, they were an Emergency Manager and Planning Support Lead at FEMA, as well as a Program Analyst and Planning Specialist. Finally, from 2016 to 2012, they were a Graduate Research Fellow at the National Science Foundation, and a Strategic Account Executive and Senior Account Executive at Aramark Healthcare.

Austin Burson has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Additionally, they hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from the Six Sigma Global Institute, obtained in December 2018, as well as several certifications from FEMA, including Advanced Professional Development Series, EO754 Planning Section Specialist, Geospatial Information Systems Specialist, L0102 Science of Disaster, L0103 Strategic Planning, and LK0146 Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Training.
