Maria Hunter

Group General Counsel at Alcidion

Maria has over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer for corporations in government and the private sector. She has conducted litigation, negotiated contracts and managed legal compliance initiatives across a range of industries including technology, film and music copyright, retail banking and energy distribution. Before joining Alcidion, Maria held senior legal roles at HSBC and Ausgrid and was General Counsel at Ricoh Australia.

Maria has taught law to undergraduates at UNSW and conducted research on the use of plain legal language while seconded to the Law Foundation of NSW. She takes pride in expressing contractual and regulatory requirements clearly to support Alcidion’s sales and operational teams in Australia, New Zealand and the UK and to provide strategic legal advice to senior management and the Alcidion Board.

Maria holds a Bachelors Arts (Hons) and Law from the University of Sydney and a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
