Heather Hudak

SVP, Tax at Alcoa

Heather Hudak is Senior Vice President of Tax, responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Alcoa’s global tax strategies, direct and indirect tax compliance, and financial tax reporting in support of the overall business strategy. Heather joined Alcoa in 2018 as Vice President of Tax.

Heather is a seasoned tax executive and most recently served as Managing Director, International Tax at AES Corporation in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to joining AES Corporation, she was Managing Director, Corporate Tax at State Street Corporation, where she served in a dual capacity as tax lead for the recovery and resolution planning team and leader of the tax compliance team.

Heather began her career with Ernst & Young, where she served in various roles with increasing responsibility, ultimately becoming a Tax Partner and leading the Pittsburgh Office International Tax practice. She advised U.S. and foreign multinationals on international tax matters, including foreign investment and repatriation planning, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, foreign tax credit optimization, inbound income and withholding tax matters, and the tax implications of business transformations.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, both from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a Certified Public Accountant. She previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Homeless Children’s Education Fund, and on several committees for the United Way of Allegheny County, both in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
