Marissa P. Earnest

SVP, Chief Governance Counsel & Secretary at Alcoa

Marissa is Senior Vice President, Chief Governance Counsel and Secretary of Alcoa Corporation. In this role, Marissa is responsible for securities, corporate governance, and executive compensation matters, as well as corporate entity management. She also provides advice on securities offerings, financings, and corporate disclosures. Previously, Ms. Earnest served as Chief Securities and Governance Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Alcoa from November 2016 through December 2019.

Marissa joined Alcoa Inc. in June 2016 as Securities and Governance Counsel in anticipation of the separation of Alcoa Inc. into two independent, publicly-traded companies.

Prior to joining Alcoa, Marissa worked for a specialty metals manufacturer for over nine years, most recently as Senior Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary. She had responsibility for securities, governance, finance, general corporate, subsidiary, conflict minerals, and certain compliance-related matters. Marissa started her career as a corporate associate at the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC serving public company clients. Her experience includes mergers and acquisitions work.

Marissa earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law in 2002, where she was Executive Editor of the Law Review. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University in 1998. Marissa is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Society for Governance Professionals and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
