Aruna Gorusupudi

Aruna Gorusupudi is a Senior Scientist at Alcon since January 2023 and a Scientist at Aerie Pharmaceuticals since September 2021. With a robust background in biochemistry and nutrition, Aruna held positions as a Research Associate at John A. Moran Eye Center from April 2017 to September 2021 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics from October 2012 to April 2017. Research expertise includes HPLC analysis of carotenoids, metabolism studies in knockout mice, and analysis of metabolites using LC-MS, as well as experimental animal handling. Aruna's doctoral work at CFTRI involved studying the bioavailability and biological activity of lutein. Earlier experience includes roles at United Online and CFTRI focusing on customer care and dissertation research, respectively. Aruna holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Nutrition from CFTRI, a Master's degree in Biotechnology from GITAM College, and a Bachelor's degree from Andhra University. Current research involves a grant from Knights Templar related to VLC-PUFAs in juvenile retinal degeneration.
