Kathrin Meyer

Chief Scientific Officer at Alcyone Therapeutics

Kathrin Meyer has a long and varied work experience. In 2001, they started as a Nurse Assistant and Night Watch at tilia Nursing Home. In 2004, they moved to Universität Bern as a Scientific Assistant. From 2007 to 2011, they were a PhD Student and Postdoctoral Researcher at the same university. In 2017, they became an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In 2020, they joined Alcyone Therapeutics Inc. as their Chief Scientific Officer. From 2011 to 2020, they were also a Principle Investigator and Research Scientist at Nationwide Children's Hospital, where they developed new therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative disorders using AAV9 based gene delivery, wrote grants and scientific publications, and supervised students and research assistants. Additionally, from 2008 to 2011, they were a Teacher for Natural Science and Specialized Knowledge at the Vocational School for Biology Laboratory Technicians in Berne.

Kathrin Meyer obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Life Science from the University of Bern in 2010. In 2009, they earned a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Projektmanagement from the University of Applied Science for Economics (FH) Berne and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Leadership from the University of Applied Science in Economics, Berne.
