Daniel Maslyar

Vice President of Clinical Development, Oncology at Alector

Daniel Maslyar is the Vice President of Clinical Development, Oncology at Alector. Daniel has over fifteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on oncology drug development.

Maslyar began their career as a Clinical Consultant at MedTrust Online in 2009. Daniel then transitioned to Nektar Therapeutics as the Director of Clinical Development in 2010. In this role, they oversaw the clinical development of Nektar's oncology pipeline.

In 2004, Maslyar joined Cell Genesys as the Director of Clinical Research. Daniel played a key role in the development of Cell Genesys' oncology portfolio, overseeing clinical trials for a variety of solid tumor indications.

Maslyar joined Genentech in 2010 as an Associate Group Medical Director. In this role, they led the Global Development Team for ipatasertib, a small molecule inhibitor of Akt. Daniel also oversaw late-phase studies for prostate and breast cancer, as well as early-phase studies for novel combinations in solid tumors. From 2015 to present, they have served as the Pharma Development Oncology Sub-team Leader for lifastuzumab vedotin (anti-NaPi2b-vc-MMAE), an ADC targeting ovarian and lung cancer.

Maslyar earned their MD from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed their residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Daniel also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Daniel Maslyar graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry. Daniel then attended the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine and received their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). After completing their Internal Medicine Residency Program at UC San Diego, they completed a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. Daniel is currently pursuing a career in Oncogenes and Drug Discovery at Scripps Research.
