Lawrence Carter has an extensive work experience in the field of clinical development and research. Lawrence currently holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Science, Neurology at Alector since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Research and Development at Alexza Pharmaceuticals from 2021 to 2021.
Lawrence Carter has also held various roles at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, including Executive Director of Clinical Development, Senior Director of Clinical Development, Director of Clinical Development, Senior Medical Science Liaison, and Medical Science Liaison. Lawrence started working at Jazz Pharmaceuticals in 2011 and remained there until 2021.
Before joining Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Lawrence Carter worked as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology (Adjunct) and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences from 2009 to 2011. Lawrence also served as a Scientific Advisor at Dan's Plan from 2009 to 2013.
Additionally, Lawrence Carter has served as a Medical Science Liaison at Jazz Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 2007 to 2008 and as a Clinical Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University from 2005 to 2007.
Lawrence Carter completed their Ph.D. in Pharmacology at UT Health San Antonio from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Psychology from Kalamazoo College from 1997 to 2001.
