Natalia Franco-Hernandez

Senior Research Associate at Alector

Natalia Franco-Hernandez is a Senior Research Associate at Alector since June 2020, having progressed through various roles within the company, including Research Associate II and Research Associate I. Notably, Natalia developed an image analysis protocol using Imaris software that was adopted department-wide. Prior experience includes serving as Project Lead at the BioInnovation Group at UC Davis, where research efforts led to a 10% reduction in per-plate costs for a more efficient ELISA for plant disease testing. In addition, Natalia worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences, assisting with sample preparation and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy testing. Earlier teaching experience includes a role as Substitute Teacher in the TALK program, instructing elementary students in Spanish and French. Natalia holds a Professional Science Master's degree in Biotechnology from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis.
