Ángela Medín Casal

Junior Space Systems Engineer at Alén Space

Ángela Medín Casal has a strong background in the aerospace industry. Ángela started their career at UVigo SpaceLab, where they served as a Member in the Structure & Thermal Department and as a Campus Coordinator from July 2020 to February 2021. During this time, they gained experience in coordinating activities and working on projects related to structures and thermal systems.

In 2021, Ángela joined Alén Space, where they have held multiple roles. As an Internship Trainee from February to March 2021, they gained exposure to the company's operations and contributed to various projects. Ángela then became an AIV Intern, focusing on mechanical design of nanosatellite components, reception and integration of subsystems, and the execution of environmental test campaigns from May 2021 to March 2022.

Currently, Ángela serves as a Space Systems Engineer at Alén Space since March 2022. In this role, they are responsible for the mechanical design of nanosatellite and ground station components, CubeSat configuration design, and acceptance and integration of nanosatellite components.

Through their work experiences, Ángela has developed expertise in mechanical design, component integration, and environmental testing for nanosatellites. Their contributions have been valuable in the aerospace industry, and they continue to thrive in their role as a Space Systems Engineer.

Ángela Medín Casal completed their education in 2022, majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in aerospace materials and equipment from the Universidade de Vigo. In addition to their degree, they obtained a certification in B2 - First (FCE) from Cambridge Assessment English in June 2018. Ángela also earned a Celga 4 certification from Xunta de Galicia in May 2016.
