Ari Levisohn

Ari Levisohn is a computer science intern who developed a web app using AI to recommend relevant medical papers for specific classes of medical devices to handle the inundation of COVID-19 research papers. Ari has also worked as a student researcher at the University of Michigan, designing and analyzing millimeter scale piezoelectric robots with biomedical applications. In addition, Ari has worked as a Bioinformatics Research Associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where they applied machine learning techniques to identify clinical and genetic factors behind newly discovered subtypes of type 2 diabetes with applications in precision medicine, advanced diagnosis, and forecasting potential disease complications.

Ari Levisohn began their educational career at the University of Michigan, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. After graduation, they took a gap year to study Judaics intensively, focusing on philosophy, history, Talmud, leadership and volunteering. Ari then returned to school to earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

They are on a team with Beth Lesch - Writer, Sarah Penso - Editor, and Tikva Hecht - Producer. Ari Levisohn reports to Shoshana Blum, Art Director.
