John is also the former CEO and founder of CasePick Systems, which is now named Symbotic. Prior to that, they were Vice President and CTO of Cuesol, Inc.

The technology is now in production and is gaining recognition among world-class retailers as the new state-of-the-art in distribution automation. In 2009, the company became wholly owned by C&S and is now named Symbotic.

In 2011, Lert left CasePick and became an independent inventor and entrepreneur once again. John developed the Alert Innovation "each-picking" system, which automates fulfillment of orders for individual product units. The system is currently being used by major retailers across the country.

John Lert has a MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, a BA in Theirtory from the University of Virginia, and a High School Diploma from The Westminster Schools.
