Ron Shalhoup

Ron Shalhoup is the Senior Operations Manager at Alexa. Ron has over 20 years of experience in the IT field. Ron has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University.

Ron began their career in 1996 as a Systems and Network Administrator for Sun Microsystems/Diba Inc. Ron was responsible for managing the company's network of Solaris, Linux, and Windows systems. In 1998, Ron left Sun Microsystems/Diba Inc to join Tristrata Inc as a Software Engineer. Ron worked at Tristrata Inc for just over six months before leaving to join Alexa in 1999.

At Alexa, Ron has held various positions including Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead. In their current role as Senior Operations Manager, they are responsible for leading a team of engineers who design, build, and operate the systems that power Amazon's voice-controlled assistant, Alexa.

Ron Shalhoup has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School, a MA in Demography from Georgetown University, and a BA in Computer Science from the University of Delaware. Ron also has certification from LinkedIn in AWS: Controlling Cost, Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, and Amazon Web Services in Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (CSAA).
