VP of Client Insights at Alexander Babbage

Bill brings a unique perspective to his work based on many years of retail property management, marketing and market research experience coupled with his background as a multi-property vice president with The Rouse Company (eventually acquired by General Growth) and as Vice President and Director of Management of Melvin Simon & Associates (later Simon). At Simon, Bill was responsible for the management of all operating properties as well as several corporate departments including marketing, market research, technical services, new business development, and third-party management along with shared responsibility for financial services related to shopping center budgets and operations. In addition, he created the industry’s first specialty leasing department at Simon.

Bill later became president of Stillerman Jones & Company which was the foremost marketing research and consulting company in the shopping center industry for many years. Stillerman Jones & Company was very active in the ICSC and worked with most of the nation’s leading shopping center owners and managers at the time. (Alexander Babbage acquired Stillerman Jones & Company in 2007.)

Bill has worked with more than 2,300 retail properties including many of the best known. He was the first to achieve the combined property designations of Certified Shopping Center Marketing Director (ICSC), Certified Shopping Center Manager (ICSC) and Certified Property Manager (IREM).
