Leon Sturkenboom

Leon Sturkenboom is an accomplished professional in the energy storage and battery technology sectors, currently serving as the Head of Product Management for Energy Storage at Alfen since October 2023. Sturkenboom has been an Ambassador for Battery Associates since June 2021, focusing on ethics and sustainability within the battery industry. Prior experience includes a tenure at Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG as a Senior Battery Engineer, where key responsibilities involved HV battery component strategy and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Sturkenboom's extensive background also includes leading operations and product development at E-stone Batteries and providing consultancy services on various projects related to sustainability and technology. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Energy Science from Utrecht University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Soil Water Atmosphere from Wageningen University & Research.
