Derek Williams

Vice President Senior Project Manager at Alfred Benesch & Company

Derek Williams has over 40 years of work experience in various roles within the fields of project management, landscape architecture, and park planning. Derek started their career as a Park Planning Intern at the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department in 1973 and later worked as an Associate Landscape Architect at Bell Design Group. In 1980, they became a Partner at Jordan/Evans/Williams before joining Sears Design Group as a Principal in 1983. In 1985, they founded Site Solutions and served as President for almost 30 years. In 2014, they joined Alfred Benesch & Company as the North Carolina Division Manager and later became a Vice President Senior Project Manager.

Derek Williams earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Park Administration from North Carolina State University in 1973 and went on to obtain a Masters in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Recreation and Park Administration from the same university between 1973 and 1976.
