Scott Smith

Scott Smith has more than 25 years of legal and litigation expertise in the construction industry, Scott provides invaluable guidance related to risk management and other corporate legal matters. As a member of Benesch’s Corporate Management Team and Enterprise Risk Management initiative, Scott is responsible for ensuring the stability of the firm through the implementation of sound business practices which mitigate risk to Benesch and the clients.

Over the course of his career, Scott has dedicated significant time and effort to organizations supporting the industry and his community. He is a member of the Building Code Review Board for the Village of Arlington Heights and the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys (by invitation only) and contributes to the Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee. Scott is also a past chair of the Construction Law and Mechanics Lien Subcommittee of the Chicago Bar Association and previously served on the steering committee for the Design Division of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law.
