Domenico Velotto is an accomplished project manager and engineer with extensive experience in remote sensing and data management. Currently at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, Domenico manages the EU TechOceanS and AtlantECO projects, implementing data management best practices. Previous roles include project manager at the University of Bremen, where Domenico led data and sensor management for the BMBF-funded AMMOD project, and system engineer at Rheinmetall Defence, contributing to airborne radar simulation systems. Notably, during a decade at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Domenico conducted fundamental research in satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar oceanography and managed numerous R&D projects. Domenico holds a Ph.D. in Remote Sensing and Earth Observation from the Technical University of Munich and a Master’s in Radioelectronic Navigation and Earth Observation Systems from the University of Naples 'Parthenope'.
