Tabea Rettelbach

Tabea Rettelbach is a Doctoral Researcher at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research since August 2019, focusing on deep learning image analysis of Arctic permafrost landscapes as part of the AI4EO Beyond Fellowship. Tabea held a position as a Visiting Researcher at the Technical University of Munich from January to June 2023 and has previous experience as a Working Student at SYSTEMA, developing deep learning algorithms for defect detection in wafers. Additional roles include Occupational Trainee at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, where Tabea built neural networks for astronomy image classification, and Teaching Assistant at Universität Trier, providing instruction in environmental remote sensing. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Applied Geoinformatics from Universität Trier and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.
