Ahmed Harbia has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of media and journalism. Ahmed began their career as a copy editor at AlMasry AlYoum in 2009, where they reviewed and edited news stories while supporting reporters in their news gathering and writing. Ahmed then worked as an investigative journalist and supervisor of a specialized weekly page at Elbadil newspaper in 2008.
In 2012, Ahmed became the managing editor of "Akher al-Nahar" Daily Talk Shows at Al Nahar TV Channels, where they produced daily talk shows on two leading satellite news networks. Ahmed originated, researched, and produced stories, wrote scripts, and conducted interviews with guests. Ahmed also worked with a team to provide leading coverage of issues related to Egyptian politics, the economy, and society.
Ahmed then joined AlMasry AlYoum once again in 2013, this time as an assistant editor. Ahmed oversaw and advised hundreds of reporters, conceptualized and assigned journalism projects, and served as the first page editor and the supervisor of the last page and specialized pages.
In 2016, Ahmed became the editor-in-chief of 360.media, a digital platform that aimed to provide a comprehensive and non-political press service to the Arab citizen. Ahmed oversaw multimedia news coverage and successfully integrated print and digital platforms by overhauling content, design, and writing style.
Ahmed continued their editorial role as the editor-in-chief of Manshoor.com from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they managed the website and mobile apps' content and layout and developed a communication assignment schedule for reporters.
Most recently, Ahmed worked at Middle East Broadcasting Networks in 2019 as a content lead. Their responsibilities included managing day-to-day operations of the online desk, implementing internal and external footage sharing, and distributing content. Ahmed successfully communicated assignment schedules to reporters and ensured the efficient management of the website and mobile apps' content and layout.
