Le Lu

Le Lu is a Researcher and Senior Director at Alibaba Group's DAMO Academy USA since August 2021, focusing on advancements in health technology. Lu serves as a board member of The Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention Society from 2021 to 2025 and holds the title of IEEE Fellow for contributions to machine learning in cancer diagnosis. Additional roles include Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and Distinguished Industry Speaker for IEEE Signal Processing Society. Prior experience includes Executive Director at PAII Inc., Research Collaborator and Staff Scientist at the National Institutes of Health, and Visiting Scientist at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Lu earned a PhD in Computer Science focusing on Computer Vision and Machine Learning from The Johns Hopkins University and has held research management positions, including at NVIDIA.
