Michael Brown-Hayes

Michael Brown-Hayes, PhD has a diverse work experience in data science and analytics. Michael currently holds the position of Associate Vice President, Platform & Analytics Product at Alignment Healthcare since March 2021. Prior to that, they served as Sr Director, Data and Analytics Product at Alignment Healthcare from December 2019 to March 2021.

Before joining Alignment Healthcare, Michael worked at Cambia Health Solutions, where they held multiple roles. From September 2017 to November 2019, they served as Assistant Director, AI Operations. Michael also led a team of data scientists as Sr. Data Scientist, Team Lead from July 2015 to September 2017, focusing on consumer-focused recommendation and clinical prediction models. Michael started their tenure at Cambia Health Solutions as a Senior Data Scientist from December 2014 to June 2015 and as a Data Strategy Analyst from September 2014 to December 2014.

Prior to their time at Cambia Health Solutions, Michael worked at Leidos as a (Data) Scientist/Analyst from September 2013 to August 2014, where they contributed to the analysis, simulation, and development of predictive tools for space weather modeling.

Before Leidos, Michael gained experience at SAIC as a Scientist: Modeling & Simulation from February 2008 to September 2013. Michael'swork involved computational analysis and the development of calculation tools for ultra-high energy shocks and spacecraft surface charging.

Michael's earlier work experience includes their time at Dartmouth College as a Graduate Student/Sr. Lab Manager from August 2002 to November 2007, where they supervised and mentored students while working on UHV systems and high-power laser diode systems. Michael also served as an REU Research Intern at Oregon State University in June 2001.

Overall, Michael has a strong background in data science, analytics, and modeling, with extensive experience in healthcare, technology, and academia.

Michael Brown-Hayes, PhD, obtained a BA in Physics from Earlham College in 2002, followed by a PhD in Physics from Dartmouth College in 2007. As an exchange student, they also studied Physics at the University of Aberdeen from 2000 to 2001.
