Salah Mahmoudi

Salah Mahmoudi is an experienced professional in the field of biomedical research and drug discovery. Salah has held several significant roles throughout their career, showcasing their expertise and leadership skills.

Salah started their journey at Stanford University in 2012 as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they conducted research on aging, inflammation, and regenerative medicine. Salah played a crucial role in collaborative studies and published multiple articles in respected scientific journals. Later, in 2017, they became a Staff Research Scientist at Stanford University, continuing their cross-disciplinary projects.

In 2019, Salah co-founded and became the Scientific Advisor of NoraChem, a startup that utilizes generative AI for small molecule design. Salah formulated strategies for target selection, small molecule screening, hit identification, and lead optimization.

During the same year, they joined Pfizer as a Senior Scientist in Cancer Immunology Discovery. Salah led a small molecule phenotypic screening program and collaborated with Data Science to identify biomarkers for patient stratification. Salah also developed functional immune assays and provided bioinformatic support for programs in cytokine biology.

In 2019, Salah participated in the Summer Venture Fellows Program at The Longevity Fund, where they contributed to identifying transformative assets and evaluating their translational viability. Salah also served as a Venture Fellow.

Most recently, Salah joined Alkahest, Inc. in 2021 as the Associate Director of Discovery Research. Salah leads the Target Discovery and in vitro Biology teams, focusing on developing strategies for target selection and validation. Salah spearheads the creation of streamlined frameworks for target identification and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop efficient drug discovery workflows.

Salah Mahmoudi has a strong educational background in the field of science. From 2005 to 2011, they attended Karolinska Institutet, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Experimental Oncology. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2005, Salah pursued their education at Uppsala University, where they earned a Masters degree in Molecular Biology.

In addition to their formal education, Salah Mahmoudi has also obtained a certification in "Developing Executive Presence" from LinkedIn, in June 2021.
