Daniel Winter

Protein Science Lead at All G Foods

Daniel Winter has a wealth of experience in the field of protein science and proteomics engineering. In 2021, they took on the role of Protein Science Lead at All G Foods. Prior to this, they were an Adjunct Associate Lecturer and Research Associate at UNSW from 2018 to 2021, where they conducted research in the development of native mass spectrometry techniques and supervised PhD students. In 2018, they were also a Synthetic Biology Future Science Fellow at CSIRO. From 2014 to 2018, they were an Advisor for the iGEM Competition, facilitating the creation of and mentoring the first three UNSW iGEM teams. From 2013 to 2014, they were a PhD candidate at UNSW, where they conducted network analysis of post-translational modification-modulated protein-protein interactions and characterised S. cerevisiae protein methyltransferases by mass spectrometry. From 2012 to 2013, they were an Intern at IFR 83 - Institut de Biologie Intégrative. From 2010 to 2012, they were an Intern at CNRS EAC 4413 - Unité de Biologie Fonctionnelle et Adaptative, where they studied the AhR and Nrf2 signaling pathways and NQO1 activity in a murine model of hyperhomocysteinemia by enzyme assay and refinements in the NQO1 enzyme assay protocol. In 2009, they were also an Intern at CNRS EAC 4413 - Unité de Biologie Fonctionnelle et Adaptative, where they received training in current molecular biology techniques.

Daniel Winter obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Université Paris Cité in 2011. Daniel then went on to complete a Master's degree in Protein Structure, Function and Engineering from the same university in 2013. In the same year, they also completed a Biochimie des Protéines from the Pasteur Institute. Finally, in 2017, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Proteomics and Systems Biology from UNSW.
