Position Purpose

A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and is responsible for managing the operations team to deliver efficient and effective logistical support to the program teams.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to Program Director
  • Roles reporting to position  Volunteer Relations Coordinator

Essential Functions  

  • Provides supportive leadership, management, and overall organizational planning to general operations of the program

  • Manages the Operations Team to deliver an efficient and effective base of operations, to support successful project outputs

  • Supports in recruiting, onboarding, and managing an effective staff team to meet the specific needs of the communities affected

  • Supports the Program Director and Recovery Manager in empowering staff to carry out their work effectively and efficiently

  • Support in making sure All Hands and Hearts and program’s rules are followed; perform disciplinary processes, if needed

  • With the support of the Recovery Manager and fellow staff, develop, implement, and review the program’s Emergency and Evacuation Procedures, and Health, Safety, and Security protocols

  • Work with local partners and create collaboration between us and their organizations

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate communication, training, and rehearsal of contingency plans and organizing periodical risk assessments

  • Communicate program performance and escalate issues to the Program Director.

  • Support training and skills development for staff and volunteers

  • Support with petty cash counts and itemized credit card transactions.

  • We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required

  • Perform other duties as required

Position Requirements

  • Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Related Experience 1+ years experience working in a disaster relief organization, preferably with All Hands and Hearts. 1+ years of experience in a role with management responsibilities, including budget tracking and reporting.
  • Special Competencies/Certifications Valid driver’s license. Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets.  Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Typical starting salary is $16 - $17 USD / hour, and up to $18 for highly qualified candidates who have previous experience in this role.
