Mohamed Zakaria Sadek

Mohamed Zakaria (Zak) Sadek is a seasoned professional in the audit and assurance sector, currently serving as Partner and Audit HR Partner at BDO South Africa since December 2018, following the merger with Grant Thornton Johannesburg. Zak manages a large client portfolio across various industries, including retail, mining, services, insurance, and the public sector, and actively participates in multiple audit committees. In addition, Zak holds the position of Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation since September 2021. Prior experience includes serving as Partner and Head of Transformation at Grant Thornton from 2002 to 2018, where responsibilities encompassed corporate governance consulting and strategic due diligence assignments. Zak is a qualified Chartered Accountant with degrees in accountancy and auditing from the University of Johannesburg.
