Gugu Mtetwa

Gugu Mtetwa is a business executive who currently serves as the Executive Institutional Clients Operations at Allan Gray. Gugu has also held various other positions at notable companies such as Sasfin, Equites Property Fund Limited, Santam Insurance, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Vodacom, and PwC.

Mtetwa began their career at PwC South Africa in January 2005, where they worked their way up to Manager before leaving in 2008. Gugu then joined Vodacom as the Managing Executive Finance in April 2014, but left less than two years later in October 2015. In August 2014, Mtetwa also became a Non Executive Director & Audit Committee chair at DBSA, a position they still hold today.

More recently, Mtetwa served as a Non Executive Director at Sasfin from August 2017 to September 2019, and Equites Property Fund Limited from May 2017 to August 2019. Gugu also served on the board of Santam Insurance from February 2017 to August 2019. In September 2019, they were appointed to their current role as Executive Institutional Clients Operations at Allan Gray.

Gugu Mtetwa has a MSc in Finance (Economic Policy) from the University of London, a Project and Infrastructure Finance Programme from the London Business School, and an Advanced Business Risk Management from the University of Cape Town. Gugu is also a Partner Development Programme from GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) and has a Personal Mastery Programme from GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science). Additionally, they have a Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce - BCom in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Cape Town. Finally, they are CA(SA) from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
