Joan Brown

Joan Brown, CPA, CA, CPA (Illinois), has a diverse work experience spanning from 2001 to the present. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Allarity Therapeutics since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Reporting at the same company. From 2016 to 2023, Joan worked as a Consultant for public companies and/or private companies going public. Before that, they served as a Senior Manager at MNP from August 2018 to May 2019.

Joan also has experience working in regulatory and supervisory roles. Joan was the Director of Prudential Supervision at BC Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) from November 2014 to April 2016. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Manager at DMCL Chartered Professional Accountants from May 2002 to October 2007, where they advised clients and audit committees on accounting standards, financial statement disclosure, and collaborated on audit strategies.

Joan began their career as the Manager of Corporate Accounting at Open Solutions (now part of Fiserv) from May 2001 to May 2002. In this role, they managed and trained accounting staff, prepared financial statements and audit working papers, and collaborated with department heads for budgeting and reporting.

Joan Brown obtained their Chartered Accountant (CA) designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) between 1994 and 1998.
