S. Annie Morton

Director of Genetic Counseling at Allele Diagnostics

Annie Morton is a licensed, certified genetic counselor with over 20 years of experience in cytogenetics and molecular genetics laboratories as well as clinical genetics. She earned her Masters of Science in Genetic Counseling from California State University - Northridge.

Annie Morton is currently the Director of Genetic Counseling at Allele Diagnostics. She is responsible for overseeing the genetic counselor team and leading the client care services for the company. She is also the leader for website development and involved in development of all marketing materials.

Prior to joining Allele Diagnostics in 2014, Annie worked in various capacities at Signature Genomic Laboratories since 2007. She held roles in both the clinical Genetic Counselor Department, focusing on client care and coordinating cases as well as in the Research & Development Department, focusing on test development. Annie has also held positions at Shodair Children's Hospital, seeing general genetics patients including pediatrics, prenatal, and adult genetics patients and at Mayo Clinic, primarily coordinating cases in the cytogenetics laboratory and also seeing adult cancer genetics patients.

Annie is a graduate of California State University - Northridge, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling, which included clinical rotations at UCLA, Kaiser Permanente, and Shodair Children's Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business Administration at Carroll College in Montana. Annie is currently a member of National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), and American College of Medical Genetics & Genomics (ACMG).
