Dr. Colombo is the Head of the Unit of Immunology and Functional Genomics and Head of the Open Innovation Area at the Monzino IRCCS Cardiology Center, Milan.
He specializes in Allergology and Clinical Immunology and has a Ph.D. in Biotechnology in the Medical Sciences.
He previously taught at the Schools of Specialization in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, and the School of Medicine at the University of Milan. Dr. Colombo has also carried out clinical and research activities at the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Milan and the Policlinico Hospital in Milan.
His main areas of research focus on the genetics and genomics of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, and the identification of new molecular biomarkers of cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Colombo has been published in over 65 international scientific journals including Circulation Research, Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, Bioinformatics, and the European Heart Journal.
