Janet Freed

Janet Freed has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Janet is currently serving as the SVP, Talent at Allen & Gerritsen since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Coach/Advocate in the Greater Boston, MA area, providing support for underserved and gender-diverse individuals in the community. In this role, they established a safe space for gender-diverse college students and created academic study plans to help them succeed in school.

Janet also served as the Director of Human Resources at 2Life Communities from 2019 to 2022. During their tenure, they restructured and improved the employee benefits program, collaborated with external agencies to implement DEI initiatives, and conducted management training programs.

Before that, Janet held various roles at Harmonix Music Systems, including Director of Human Resources from 2011 to 2017. Janet supported the executive team in creating a positive work environment and oversaw a budget of $1.1 million. Additionally, they played a key role in the transition of Harmonix from a Viacom subsidiary to a private entity.

Janet's earlier experience includes working as an Entitlement Coordinator at WCI - Work, Community, Independence, where they were involved in recruitment, personnel file management, and the development of programs for individuals with disabilities.

Janet Freed has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication from Boston University. Janet also holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College. In addition, they have obtained a Certificate of Human Resource Management from UMass Boston. Janet Freed has further enhanced their qualifications with a certification as a Notary Public for the State of Massachusetts, which they obtained in April 2021.
