Chandra Sekhar Bhagavatula completed his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Doug Downey. His research interests are in the areas of Information Extraction, Natural Language Processing and he is currently exploring the application of Machine Learning algorithms to build Semantic Scholar, AI2's academic search engine. Besides research, he likes to travel, enjoys water sports, and would like to learn to play the flute someday.
