Noah Smith

Noah Smith is broadly interested in algorithms for and applications of natural language processing. He is a professor at the University of Washington's Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. Before moving to Seattle, he was on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science, and he studied at Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D.) and the University of Maryland (B.S. in CS and B.A. in Linguistics). Outside work, he makes music, swims laps, mixes cocktails, and serves cats.
