Kristopher Spenningsby has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kristopher started their career as a Field Engineer at TIC - THE INDUSTRIAL COMPANY WYOMING, INC. in 2002. Kristopher then worked as a Gas Engineer at Xcel Energy from 2003 to 2006. Spenningsby joined Minnesota Power in 2006 and held multiple positions including Engineer II, Generation Maintenance Superintendent, Project Development Leader, Supervisor-Project Development, and Supervisor-Retail Accounts. In 2014, they became an Instructor at the University of Minnesota Duluth and held the position until 2020. Finally, in 2018, Spenningsby joined ALLETE Clean Energy as the Customer Solutions & Asset Optimization Director, a position they currently hold.
Kristopher Spenningsby earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Dakota State University in the years 1999 to 2002. Kristopher then pursued a Masters degree in Gas Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, completing it from 2006 to 2008. Later on, they attended the College of Saint Scholastica from 2011 to 2013, obtaining their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Leadership. Additionally, they hold a Professional Engineer certification in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
