John Baptist

John Baptist has extensive work experience in the banking industry, with roles in various banks such as HSBC, CIMB, RHB Bank Berhad, and Mayban Discount Berhad. Their most recent position was as the Head Group Credit Risk at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of the Credit Risk Division at Danajamin Nasional Berhad from 2020 to 2023. Before that, they held the position of Senior Credit Approver at HSBC from 2017 to 2020. John also worked at CIMB, where they were the Director/Head of the Regional Review Unit from 2015 to 2017 and the Director of Restructuring and Rescheduling before that. John started their career at RHB Bank Berhad as an Assistant Vice President in NPL Management from 2001 to 2006. Lastly, they served as the Credit Manager at Mayban Discount Berhad from 1998 to 2000. Throughout their career, John has gained experience in credit risk management, credit evaluation, restructuring and rescheduling, and non-performing loan management.

John Baptist has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law from the University of London, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business/Commerce, General at the University of Southern Queensland from 2009 to 2010. In 1990 to 1993, they earned a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers Malaysia, specialized in Banking and Finance.
