Chief of Staff at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools

Laura Hernandez-Flores is Alliance’s new Chief of Staff. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, she is responsible for leading the CEO Support Team to ensure the CEO’s vision and direction for the organization come to life. This work includes Executive Team management, Governing Board relations, and other high-priority initiatives across the Alliance network.

Previously, she spearheaded organizational development and scalability as the Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Alder Graduate School of Education. Laura facilitated the organization’s goal to achieve $20M in funding, increased individual donors from 25 to 100, and helped generate $12M in two years. In partnership with her team, she directed and expanded the revenue funnel by engaging new and existing charitable individuals and foundations.

Before joining Alder Graduate School of Education, Laura was Vice President of Programs and Partnerships for the New Teacher Center. At NTC, she directed teacher induction programs across 13 states by establishing, fostering, and broadening partnerships with school districts and donors. Laura also influenced organizational direction and strategic vision as part of NTC’s leadership team.

Other professional highlights include her role as Chief of Staff for LA’s Promise, a local nonprofit focused on school turnaround in South Los Angeles. Laura began her career as a secondary teacher for ten years before venturing out to the nonprofit sector.
