Alliance for Children's Rights
Cynthia R. is an experienced Benefits Program Advocate at the Alliance for Children's Rights since May 2021, where responsibilities include analyzing client needs in crisis and facilitating communication with supervising attorneys to address legal matters. Previous roles include Legal Assistant at Jacoby & Meyers Attorneys LLP, efficiently negotiating liens to enhance client settlements, and another Legal Assistant position focused on managing hearings at the Alliance. Cynthia also served as a Research Assistant at the University of California, Riverside, contributing to child development studies, and held various leadership roles in student organizations, including President and Secretary of the Central American Student Alliance. Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Public Policy from the University of California, Riverside.
Alliance for Children's Rights
The Alliance for Children’s Rights is a nonprofit legal services organization that protects the rights of impoverished, abused and neglected children in Los Angeles County. We advocate for healthcare, education and financial support for families created by adoption, foster care and guardianship. We also address the needs of foster youth leaving care without a permanent family. Whenever possible, we remedy system wide issues through policy reform. Our clients include children in foster care, runaway and emancipating youth, and relative and non-relative caregivers. With the help of pro bono attorneys, we have assisted 125,000 families to achieve safe, stable homes, healthcare and the education children need to succeed in school and in life.
