Jennifer McGarvey is an accomplished environmental professional currently serving as the Virginia State Director and Capacity Building Initiative Director at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay since July 2014. In this capacity, Jennifer leads the Stewardship and Engagement Program Team and manages various initiatives aimed at enhancing community involvement in the Chesapeake Watershed. Previously, Jennifer held the position of Senior Program Manager, overseeing programs like the Chesapeake Watershed Forum and Chesapeake Forests, focusing on collaborative conservation efforts. Jennifer's earlier experience includes roles as a Forest Ecology Research Fellow and Forest Ecology Intern at the Smithsonian Institution. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
