Sven Ortel

Sven Ortel is a Professor of Practice in Immersive and Entertainment Design at Arizona State University, where the focus is on educating the next generation of designers and artists. As a projection designer, Ortel has contributed to various high-profile projects, including Broadway's "Parade" and "Once Upon A One More Time." Additional work includes projection design for productions such as "Maybe Happy Ending," "Ever After," and "Candide," as well as serving as Owner of Noiland LLC, dedicated to video and projection design in live arts. Previous roles include Creative Director for "Eyes on the Sky" Mixed Reality Project at The University of Texas at Austin and a coordinator of projection, lighting, and interactivity within the Department of Arts & Entertainment Technology. Ortel's educational background includes a BA (honors) in Lighting Design from Rose Bruford College, facilitating expertise in integrated media for live performance.
