Roy Blood

Roy Blood has over 20 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity. Roy is currently working as a Senior Cybersecurity Associate at Alliant Cybersecurity since 2022. Prior to this, Roy worked at MATRIX Resources from 2020 to 2022, where they held the positions of HIPAA Information Security Officer for CPAPDropShip.com and Information Security Officer for CPAP.com.

From 2019 to 2020, Roy took a leave of absence to prioritize family and self-development. During this time, they participated in various certification refresher trainings and provided hospice care for a family member.

Before their leave of absence, Roy worked at Accenture from 2012 to 2019, where they held the position of Security Consulting Senior Manager. Roy played a key role in developing new business with government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in various industries.

Roy's earlier experience includes working at NASA as an Information Security Principal for Barrios NASA Contractor from 2010 to 2012, and as a Network and IT Security Manager for Kairos and Cimarron NASA Contractor from 1998 to 2010. In these roles, they implemented security solutions and managed business-critical IT and OT system initiatives for NASA.

Roy Blood completed an Associate of Science in Computer Science at Belleville Area College from 1994 to 1995. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology - Security at Western Governors University from 2012 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Roy also possesses multiple certifications in various areas of information security. These certifications include CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP) from CMMC AB, CCSK from the Cloud Security Alliance, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA, CompTIA Project+, CIW Database Design Specialist, CompTIA Linux+, CIW JavaScript Specialist, CIW Web Design Specialist, CompTIA A+, Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO) from EC-Council, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)2, Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security and CCNA from Cisco, GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED), and GIAC Certified Firewall Analyst (GCFW) from GIAC.
